The final workshop of the “Women Entrepreneurs in the Green Economy” program, which aims to support aspiring female business leaders in green business launches, was organized by the U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad last week.
“Promoting women entrepreneurs and helping advance the green economy are both top priorities for the U.S. Mission here in India,” said U.S. Consul General Jennifer Larson.
Women Entrepreneurs in the Green Economy is a series of workshops held in Hyderabad, Warangal, and Visakhapatnam to train 40 female business owners who wanted to expand their businesses in renewable energy, pollution reduction technologies, energy-saving devices, and environmental control (emission control). Selected women-led firms from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha got mentoring, coaching, and help to seek investors and training in hard and soft entrepreneurship skills.
Alliance administered the sessions for Commercialization and Innovation Research (ACIR), which also manages the American-supported Nexus incubator program in New Delhi. The U.S. Embassy in Hyderabad entirely funded the initiative.
