Renewable Energy Lights Up West Bengal
In a significant stride towards sustainable energy solutions, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has successfully commissioned a groundbreaking 1,040 kW Bifacial Solar System project in West Bengal. This milestone initiative, undertaken in collaboration with Chengmari Tea Estate, marks the inaugural deployment of on-ground bifacial modules in eastern India.
The bifacial solar system deployed by TPREL represents a cutting-edge technology wherein solar panels capture sunlight from both surfaces, harnessing power from two sides. This innovative approach to solar energy production is a noteworthy leap forward in enhancing clean energy generation.
Key Project Details
The commissioned project, located in West Bengal, is anticipated to generate approximately 1.5 million units (MUs) of energy annually. Beyond its energy production capacity, the initiative is set to make a significant environmental impact by reducing the carbon footprint by 29,420 lakh tonnes. This reduction is equivalent to the positive environmental impact of planting 47,000 teak trees.
With the successful implementation of the bifacial solar project, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited has expanded its total renewable capacity to an impressive 9,012 MW. This reaffirms TPREL’s commitment to driving advancements in renewable energy and contributing significantly to India’s clean energy landscape.
Towards a Greener Future
The project’s strategic location in West Bengal underlines Tata Power’s dedication to spreading the benefits of clean energy across diverse regions. The innovative solar project addresses the area’s energy needs and sets a precedent for integrating advanced technologies in the renewable energy sector.
As TPREL continues to push the boundaries of technological innovation, the bifacial solar project stands as a shining example of the transformative impact of clean energy initiatives. Stay tuned for more updates on Tata Power’s pioneering efforts in the renewable energy domain.
