On Saturday, India, France, and the United Arab Emirates announced their intention to formally establish a framework to work together on nuclear energy and look into the business potential in the Indian Ocean region. In this regard, the foreign ministers of the three nations spoke on the phone and decided to cooperate in solar and nuclear energy, climate change, and biodiversity.
According to a joint statement from the three countries during the call, the three sides agreed that the trilateral initiative would serve as a forum to promote the design and execution of cooperation projects in the fields of energy, with a focus on solar and nuclear power, as well as in the fight against climate change and the protection of biodiversity, particularly in the Indian Ocean region.
The joint statement added that it was also decided that a range of trilateral activities will be staged in the backdrop of the Indian Presidency of the G20 here and the COP28 to be hosted in UAE in November-December 2023. In addition, the countries have decided to work together to prepare for war and fight contagious illnesses.
“In this sense, cooperation in multilateral institutions like the Global Fund, Unitaid, the World Health Organization (WHO), and Gavi-the Vaccine Alliance will be encouraged. Additionally, the three nations shall look for concrete ways to work together on implementing the “One Health” strategy and assist the growth of regional capacities for biomedical research and production in developing nations,” according to a joint statement.
